⁣Brand: The Sill

The mission behind The Sill is simple: make plant parenthood as wonderful — and easy — as possible. 🌱⁣

The shop has built a community powered by devoted fans, thanks to The Sill’s signature hashtag #PlantsMakePeopleHappy. ⁣

“We started sharing this sentiment as a hashtag on Instagram and it took off,” says The Sill’s digital content manager, Kaeli Van Cott. “Now, over 4 million people have shared their plants with us there. We continue to learn and meet new plant people every day. This has helped us receive a new level of visibility as a brand, but also grow and learn from our followers and customers.” 🌻⁣

⁣Brand: Cultura en tu Ropa

For brands like Cultura en tu Ropa, the story behind a product is just as important as the product itself. Started by Sofia Uribe, Cultura en tu Ropa is a US-based clothing brand inspired by generations of Mexican tradition and culture. 🇲🇽 ⁣

The brand educates their customers on the cultural significance of each article of clothing by sharing behind-the-scenes looks into manufacturing, ancestral techniques and symbolism through their posts and stories.

⁣Brand: Glow Recipe

Sharing authentic, relatable content comes naturally to Glow Recipe. 💖 The beauty brand bonds with its community through its main and private account (@realglowgang), where followers can ask product questions and share beauty tips. It also creates real dialogue with its community through Live Q&As, open conversations in Stories, and transparency about the business in its posts.

⁣Brand: Skwalwen Botanicals

In 2017, Leigh Joseph turned her passion for harvesting Indigenous plants into a business. Known as Skwalwen Botanicals, Leigh and her team create sustainable skincare products by drawing upon the knowledge of their Squamish ancestors. To tell these stories, Skwálwen Botanicals takes their Instagram audience behind-the-scenes of their harvesting methods to amplify Indigenous traditions.

⁣Brand: Keash

Born out of love for cultural appreciation, Keash is a mobile pop-up hair salon specializing in braids. The London-based hair business and its founder, Taiba Taiba, have built an engaged community on Instagram by producing exceptional creative with the modeling help of clients, friends, artists and influencers. Along with developing an online community, Taiba launched a fundraising campaign to assist nearby Black-owned salons in meeting the financial challenges of COVID-19.
